Dr. Michael Hinojosa, general superintendent of DISD, will address "Great Expectations for DISD" at the Chamber's annual State of the District Luncheon Sept. 20. The program will update the business community on the district's affairs.

An estimated 60,000 people poured into Fair Park on Aug. 11 to receive school supplies, haircuts and dental exams. The Mayor's Back to School Fair, a one-stop shop for economically disadvantaged children and families who live in Dallas, provides the resources necessary to begin the school year successfully.

General Motors spends $1,525 per vehicle on health insurance for its workers, more than the company's cost per car for steel. GM's health insurance bill for 2004 was $5.2 billion. But health savings accounts may help American employers rein in health care costs.
