Chamber launches international web upgrade

Need to know how many dollars in a Euro? Looking for the time in New Delhi? Check out the new and improved international business section of www.dallaschamber.org for these and much, much more!

In July, the Greater Dallas Chamber launched an upgraded international section on its website with a number of interactive features. The international section can be found at www.dallaschamber.org under "programs: international business."

The upgrade was supported by gold sponsors Baker & McKenzie LLP, Collabrian Design & Technology, and J.C.Penney; and silver sponsors Bank One, BDO Seidman, Gardere Wynne Sewell L.L.P. and Grant Thornton L.L.P.

The section promotes the Dallas region to potential business partners worldwide and provides useful information to local companies who wish to expand their businesses internationally. It was designed by Collabrian Design & Technology (www.collabrian.com), a full-service software development company for web sites, small and medium-sized business solutions, and high technology applications.

Features include a comprehensive listing of business tools, global business resources, and international contacts as well as a comprehensive list of local, national, and global web links. Online visitors can use an "International Toolbox" with global travel information such as passport and visa requirements, weather updates, currency conversion charts, exchange rates, travel warnings, maps and more. Some of the other features include links to international export and import websites, Dallas area and global news links as well as a calendar of international events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

"The International Advisory Council for the Chamber directed this web expansion so that the Chamber would serve an even broader audience of business professionals. The result is an exciting, easy to understand website of links–both local and global, to contacts, organizations and resources around the world," said Sergio Leiseca, who chaired the committee that created the upgrade. Leiseca is a partner at Baker & McKenzie and a member of the Chamber's International Business Advisory Council. "Our goal is for this website to be a portal of information to the business person looking to expand from DFW into the global marketplace in addition to executives and companies from around the world looking to expand into the Dallas area marketplace."

According to Collabrian Design & Technology president Stacey Geringer, "The goal of our web development team was to create a site that was focused on global business information and that would better serve members and convey the Chamber's regional business development services. With my international team of programmers and web design specialists, we are pleased with the results of this website project as well as the opportunity to partner with the Greater Dallas Chamber on such an important international outreach opportunity."
