Chamber to unveil 'State of Technology' report at event featuring CEO of TI

The Greater Dallas Chamber's Technology Business Council will present the second annual State of Technology report at a luncheon at noon on Thursday, September 26 at the Fairmont Hotel. Tom Engibous of Texas Instruments will be the keynote speaker.

Engibous, who is the chairman, president and CEO of TI, will discuss his strategic views of the technological trends shaping D/FW and the path for success in the next two to five years. Texas Instruments employs more than 12,000 in D/FW and more than 34,000 people worldwide.

Did you know…

  • In 1999, American consumers spent $20 billion online. In 2004, they will spend an estimated $184 billion, an increase of 900?
  • Dallas produces 20 percent more in value of output and employs 4,200 more people in the high technology sector than Austin, and has more tech employees than Austin and Houston combined?
  • Dallas/Fort Worth is home to 9 Fortune Global 500 and 19 Fortune 500 company headquarters, including 5 technology companies?

The State of Technology Report to be presented at the luncheon features specific statistical information and CEO interviews on company growth plans within the next two to five years. The University of Texas at Dallas School of Management compiled the report in alliance with the Chamber's Technology Business Council.

In this tough economy, how do executives secure a place among the indispensable? By networking with the biggest, brightest and best in D/FW who also want to have their finger on the pulse of technology. Meet more than 400 industry leaders and decision makers and join us for the year's most significant event on what will keep Dallas and Fort Worth at the forefront as the "Silicon Prairie" and among the largest high-technology employment centers in the United States
