Business looks for school funding answers

Businesses continue to ask: what's the best way to pay for educating the 4 million public school students of Texas?

At the Focus on Education Breakfast on September 9, David Thompson, former general counsel for the Texas Education Agency, will discuss the current school finance system in Texas and main issues surrounding school funding.

Topics include sources of funding, insuring equity in funding, what dollars are needed to educate all students, and whether local tax dollars should be returned to Austin to help fund other school districts.

Registration is available online at www.dallaschamber.org. For any questions or sponsorship information, please contact Whitney Williams at 214-746-6741.
