Donald S. Freeman, Jr.
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
The Freeman Companies  
Donald S. Freeman, Jr. was born March 21, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa.  He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1960 and was commissioned in the Supply Corps.  In 1964, Freeman resigned his commission and became Manager of the Des Moines branch of Freeman Decorating Company, a family-owned business founded in 1927 by his father, D.S. "Buck" Freeman. 
 
In 1968, Freeman was named Executive Vice President of Freeman Decorating Company and moved to the company headquarters in Dallas, Texas.  He was named President in 1973 and, upon his father's death in 1977, was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Freeman Companies.
 
The Freeman Companies is a privately held company providing total convention and exposition services through a group of eight companies:  Freeman Decorating Company, Freeman Decorating Ltd., Freeman Exhibit Company, AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions, Sullivan Transfer Company, Freeman Transportation, Hoffend Xposition and Stage Rigging, Inc.  The companies service events throughout North America from 43 major city locations.  The firm is the largest exposition service firm in the United States, with more than 4,000 full-time employee owners.  In 2000, The Freeman Companies served as official contractor for 92 of the largest 200 U.S. trade shows and 17 of the largest 50 Canadian shows.
 
Don and Beverly Freeman have two daughters, Carrie Freeman Parsons and Chris Popolo.  Carrie is Vice President of Marketing for The Freeman Companies, and son-in-law Joe Popolo is President and COO-Western Division of Freeman Decorating Company.

 
Fritzi Pikes Woods

Fritzi G. Woods is president of PrimeSource FoodService Equipment, Inc. Since taking leadership of the company in May 2003, Ms. Woods has been instrumental in establishing strategies that will accelerate the company's growth and diversify its customer base.  PrimeSource, with revenues over a hundred million dollars, is the seventh largest distributor in the industry. PrimeSource actively manages up to 1,000 new restaurant openings each year and ships an average of 1,000 orders each day, supporting over 26,000 established restaurants in the United States and 46 other countries.
 
Previously, Ms. Woods served as Executive Vice President at The Dallas Morning News, a subsidiary of Belo Corporation, where she was responsible for all financial planning, accounting and analysis.  She was simultaneously responsible for all sales and marketing efforts, representing over $500 million in revenue and leading the newspaper industry in year over year growth.  Under her leadership, new products were developed and launched, increasing category market share.  She and her team created the first strategic plan, output measures and Legislative Appropriated Request for the consolidated agency.  While with The Dallas Morning News, Ms. Woods received the Trailblazer Award from the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Communicators for outstanding leadership and professional excellence.
 
From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Woods was Manufacturing Controller and Finance Manager for Motorola in Austin, Texas.  She was responsible for the financial reporting and analysis for five semiconductor technology groups, representing $5 billion in sales and thirty manufacturing operations located in twelve countries.  She consistently received Six-Sigma awards for outstanding quality achievements.  As co-founder of the Motorola SPS Workforce Diversity Board of Directors, Ms. Woods was responsible for the strategic direction of recruiting and retention programs.
 
Prior to that, Ms. Woods was Deputy Executive Director Office of Administration for Texas Natural Resources Conversation Commission in Dallas for four years, overseeing the overall administration, financial reporting, information technology, public relations and petroleum storage divisions.  Under her leadership, three agencies were consolidated to form TNRCC.  She led the team that created the first strategic plan, output measures and Legislative Appropriated Request for the consolidated agency.
 
From 1987 to 1991, Ms. Woods was Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau in Houston.  She also worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. as an auditor for six years. Fritzi Pikes Woods joined PrimeSourceFoodService Equipment in May 2003, bringing a wealth of knowledge and executive experience to the senior management position.
