A leading medical device company is moving about 200 bio-medical jobs to DFW from California, bolstering the region’s high-tech base.
Stryker Corp. announced last month that it has chosen a site in Flower Mound to relocate its communications operations headquarters, which are currently located in southern California. The company will lease 73,000 square feet with an option on additional 111,000 square feet in Flower Mound's Lakeside Business District.
Stryker Corp., a leader in the worldwide orthopedic market, is one of the world's largest medical device companies. The company manufactures joint replacements, trauma, spine and micro implant systems, orthobiologics, powered surgical instruments, surgical navigation systems, endoscopic products and emergency medical equipment. Stryker also provides outpatient physical therapy services in the United States.
Most of the company’s local communications operations will focus on bio-medical R&D, software development, engineering, sales and marketing, along with administration and warehouse/distribution.
"Stryker's move to Flower Mound demonstrates the Greater Dallas Chamber's economic development initiatives are working for the region," said Norm Bagwell, president, Chase Dallas and chairman of the Chamber.
"Businesses are relocating to our region because we have an excellent labor pool, we are business friendly, and our regulations are not as strict as other states for business. Stryker's relocation to Flower Mound is a great addition to our region."
