Innovation and Investment Forum to draw entrepreneurs, investors

The Chamber's Technology Business Council and TECH Fort Worth will host the Innovation and Investment Forum from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on June 9th. This forum joins together technology and biotechnology entrepreneurs, investors and academics throughout the DFW region to educate and build awareness of regional resources that support entrepreneurial growth and to award SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) Phase Zero funding to five winning applicants.

Prior to the Phase Zero awards, there will be several discussion-based forums taking place in the morning, including: Venture Capital, Seed and Angel Funds; Emerging Technology Fund, CAPCOs and the Texas Enterprise Fund; SBIR and other Federal funding.

There will also be a series of small group meetings held throughout the conference to provide attendees with advice and counsel Incubators, Tech Transfer Offices and Commercialization strategies and partnerships.

This will be the first Phase Zero program brought to the North Texas region. This program is designed to help small North Texas technology businesses compete more effectively and increase participation in federal SBIR/STTR programs by providing seed grants (up to $3k) to qualified firms for the development of high-quality, competitive SBIR/STTR proposals.  Applicants must apply for the Phase Zero grant by or before May 23, 2005. Applications are located by visiting www.techfortworth.org.

Tickets to the Forum are $50 for Phase Zero applicants, $75 for Chamber members, $150 for non-members and are available on line at www.dallaschamber.org/calendar.html or by calling 214-712-1922.
