Chamber Offers a New “Experience”

With so many critical issues affecting the Dallas region, it is difficult to stay up-to-date and informed with all that is happening.  Experience Greater Dallas (EGD), a new short-term leadership development program, provides access to key people and information while offering a unique and intensive professional development opportunity.   Experience Greater Dallas is a three part series, held on Thursday mornings during the months of April and May.

A crash course in regional issues and leadership skills, Experience Greater Dallas provides the opportunity to:

  • Better understand critical regional issues
  • Enhance practical leadership skills
  • Create networks with others who are motivated to better the region
  • Gain behind-the-scenes access to key people and places
  • Discover avenues to help shape the region

EGD focuses on eight topics, including: History, DFW 101, Economic Drivers & Development, Power & Politics in Texas, Project Development: A Vision for Metro Dallas, Quality Education: The Foundation for Tomorrow, Healthcare, and The Role of the Media.  Participants will take away a broader understanding of the greater Dallas region and its needs, and be challenged to serve and strengthen their community.

This program also features key area leaders who will address these issues, such as Bill Lively, Bill Brokaw, Ron Ricks, Lucy Billingsley, Dr. Kern Wildenthal, and Jack Lowe, among others.

Experience Greater Dallas is scheduled for April 19, 26 and May 3, with all sessions being held from 7:30 am – 10:00 am.  Location TBD.  Participants can select to attend 2 days at $175 Chamber members/$225 Prospective members, or 3 days (full series) at $250 Chamber members/$300 Prospective members.  Registration is available online at www.dallaschamber.org/leadership.  Sponsorships for Experience Greater Dallas are $1000 - $5000.  Please contact Julie Tanner at 214-746-6741 for more information, or email jtanner@dallaschamber.org.
