Leadership Dallas seeking applicants

Leadership Dallas is looking to recruit a cross-section of local community leaders for its 10-month education and development program.

The program addresses such issues as human services, government, politics, economic development, diversity, health care, criminal justice, education, and arts and culture. Participants develop leadership capacities, build strong relationships and prepare for future challenges.

Leadership Dallas, which began in 1975, is a leadership development program aimed at increasing the leadership pool for community activities in the Dallas area. Each year, approximately 50 people are selected to participate in the September-to-June program.

The selection committee seeks diversity in age, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic factors and business background. Candidates should be interested in civic involvement and have a history of voluntary leadership.

Commitment to participating in Leadership Dallas centers on involvement.  A significant time commitment is involved.  Participation involves an overnight orientation retreat in September, one full-day session per month from October to June, preliminary assignments for each session, a class project, and curriculum committee meetings.  Applicants must be meet attendance requirements in order to graduate.

For more information or to request an application, contact Kali Bailey at 214-746-6746 or kbailey@dallaschamber.org.
