Dallas ISD Superintendent to address business on State of the District
Dr. Michael Hinojosa, Superintendent of Schools for the Dallas Independent School District, the 12th largest in the nation with over 158,000 students enrolled in 228 schools, will update the business community on the district's affairs at the 2007 Annual State of the District Luncheon.

The Greater Dallas Chamber together with Presenting Sponsor, Capital One, N.A., are proud to host the luncheon event to be held on September 18 at the Adam's Mark Hotel (400 N. Olive Street, Dallas) from noon - 1:30 PM.

Dr. Michael Hinojosa, will highlight topics that include school national rankings, business involvement and its relation to the success of Dallas ISD, and the Dallas Achieves! initiative. The superintendent will also provide an overview of the current challenges and goals of the district.

Dr. Hinojosa was named general superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District in April of 2005, by a unanimous vote of the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. As superintendent of schools, Dr. Hinojosa's top priorities include: improve student achievement, ensure safety for all students, nurture, encourage and train teachers, act fiscally responsible, and improve facilities to create the best learning environment.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for this event: Presenting - Capital One, N.A.; Platinum - Bank of America; Gold - TDIndustries, PlainsCapital Bank, Texas Instruments; Silver - The Coca-Cola Company, Corgan Associates, Inc. and our Education Initiative sponsors: IBM and Southwest Airlines.
