Women of color are starting businesses in record numbers
The Center for Women's Business Research has found that women of color are starting businesses at unparalleled rates, three to five times faster than all other businesses.

Over the past six years the number of businesses owned by African-American, Asian, Latina and women of other ethnicities has increased by 32 percent. Revenues have increased an incredible 48 percent and employment in these firms has risen 27 percent. (More information at www.womensbusinessresearch.org)

An estimated 1.9 million firms owned by women of color produce $165 billion in revenues. The Dallas Regional Chamber supports minority- and women-owned businesses through its Procurement Luncheon Series and online guidebooks.

Procurement Luncheons link minority and women-owned businesses with major area corporations. Sponsoring companies explain their unique procurement processes, supplier diversity, and requirements for doing business.

Attendees reinforce their current connections with corporations, establish new relationships, reinforce their services/capabilities, and learn about opportunities with sponsoring companies.
