New technologies can help trim soaring summer energy costs
As summer heat drives up energy costs, the Chamber’s Sustainable Technologies Committee is raising awareness of new technologies that help cut utility bills.

One such energy efficient technology is heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Using new software, companies can analyze their building’s current and potential utility costs. The systems can deliver significant cost savings during the life of a building. One HVAC software manufacturer is Trane Commercial Systems, with offices in Carrolton.

Chris Hsieh of Trane Commercial Systems states, “Sustainable green buildings are today’s smart investment. Carefully analyzed, planned and executed, they deliver big benefits to the environment — and your bottom line.”

The Technology Business Council will hold a Sustainable Technologies Issue Forum on Aug. 26, from 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. to discuss energy efficiency issues and how businesses are impacted by sustainable technologies.

The keynote address by Michael Walsh, executive vice president of the Chicago Climate Exchange, will highlight the financial impacts for companies "going green." Following the afternoon sessions, the Chamber will host an intimate networking reception featuring guest speaker Sam Wyly, founder of Green Mountain Energy, sharing his story of success and discussing “green entrepreneurialism.”
