Jack Kinzie

Jack Kinzie is partner in charge of the Dallas office of Baker Botts and chair of the bankruptcy and insolvency practice firmwide. In his practice, Mr. Kinzie represents a diverse range of institutional lenders, asset acquirers, creditors, debtors, officers and directors, and parents in virtually every aspect of complex chapter 11 cases, as well as out-of-court workouts. He has particular experience in prepackaged mass tort bankruptcies.

• ASARCO LLC – counsel in the chapter 11 case of this integrated copper mining, smelting, and refining company
• Mark Wattles Enterprises, LLC – counsel in connection with the DIP facility and acquisition of assets in the bankruptcy of Ultimate Electronics, Inc.
• Gazpromneft – counsel on a multibillion-dollar bankruptcy filing by Yukos Oil Company
• Halliburton Company – counsel for Halliburton in the proposed prepackaged bankruptcies of its Dresser and Kellogg Brown & Root subsidiaries, and creation of section 524(g)/105 trusts to address asbestos and silica liabilities
• Imperial Sugar Company – counsel for debtor in a prenegotiated bankruptcy in Delaware• McDermott International – counsel for parent in asbestosrelated chapter 11 cases of its wholly owned subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox

• Centex – counsel for buyer in the acquisition of Vista Properties, Inc. through a prepackaged chapter 11 reorganization plan

• The CIT Group/Business Credit, Inc. – counsel in connection with DIP facilities in bankruptcies of Sterling Chemicals and OpTel, Inc.
• National Gypsum Co. – successful defense of former officers and directors in breach of fiduciary duty litigation brought by bondholders and asbestos claimants
• Regency Savings Bank F.S.B. – representation of creditor in proposing a reorganization plan for debtor Chama Land & Cattle Company
• NCNB Texas National Bank – successful defense in adversary proceedings arising from chapter 11 cases of First RepublicBank Corp. and IFRB Corp.
Kinzie received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his B.S. in psychology from Oklahoma State University.
He is a member of: State Bar of Texas, Oklahoma Bar, United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fifth, and Tenth Circuits United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts Texas, and the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. He is a director of the Greater Dallas Chamber, Dallas Center for Contemporary Art and Dallas Citizens Council. He is a Dallas Museum of Art past Trustee and Corporate Committee Chair and a Leadership Dallas graduate.
Clint McDonnough
Dallas Office Managing Partner

Clint McDonnough is the Dallas Office Managing Partner (OMP) for Ernst & Young LLP. In this role, he is responsible for leading all day-to-day practice operations in one of the firm's largest markets. This includes overseeing delivery of the highest levels of quality client service to EY's numerous Dallas-based clients, as well as working with various leaders to provide a positive work environment for the firm's more than 1,200 employees.

As OMP, Clint also serves as EY's "face and voice" in the Dallas community. He is the firm's spokesperson on a variety of topics with local professional organizations and media outlets. Additionally, he represents EY at numerous community events that support the firm's commitment to education and mentoring.
Prior to his current responsibilities, Clint served as the firm’s Managing Partner of Assurance & Advisory Business Services (AABS) for the Southwest Area practice, which included North Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
In this capacity, Clint was responsible for the overall client focus, people initiatives, and operational performance of the Area’s AABS practice, which encompasses core audit and assurance, employee benefit plan, internal audit, transaction support, and IT assurance services. The combination of these areas included over 500 professionals reporting up through the AABS Managing Partner. In addition to these responsibilities, Clint maintained an active client focus while serving some of the areas largest REITs, real estate, developer, construction, and homebuilding companies.
Clint also served as the firm’s National Director of Real Estate Advisory Services. In this role, he created a unified national real estate consulting practice and focused on development and implementation of new services. He was also previously the Managing Partner for Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group in Texas, and the coordinating partner for a number of the firm’s homebuilder REITs, hotels, real estate developers, and mortgage banking clients. Additionally, Clint served as the firm’s National Director of REITs from 1992 to 2000. Over his 29-year career with Ernst & Young, Clint’s clients have included Centex, Columbus Property Trust, Crescent, Southwest Property Trust, Paragon Property Trust, United Dominion Realty Trust, AIMCO, and Trammell Crow Companies.
Clint began his career with Ernst & Young in 1977 in the St. Louis office. In 1982 he transferred to the National office where he worked on the development of the firm’s audit approach and statistical sampling. 1985 brought Clint to Dallas where he still resides with his wife Deb and their three children
