Chamber to hear local members of Congress
The Greater Dallas Chamber will host a luncheon featuring members of the Dallas/Fort Worth Congressional delegation at its upcoming Congressional Forum August 16, at the Westin City Center in Dallas. Dallas will lead Texas economy, says new forecast
Dallas will lead the state in economic prosperity throughout the next three decades according to the new long-term forecast released by the Perryman Group. Between 2003 and 2030, the Dallas metro will account for nearly 28 per cent of the State’s total economic growth, as measured by real gross product (RGP).

Job growth, progress on issues highlight 2nd quarter
Highlighted by strong job growth, the Chamber furthered its mission of building regional prosperity during the second quarter. Total direct jobs recruited year to date is 6,750 (3,830 in the southern sector) with total direct and indirect jobs of 20,790 -- a 45% improvement over 2003.

California manufacturer moving plant to DFW
Florestone Products Company has chosen a site in Denison for an expansion of its California headquarters and main manufacturing plant. Their expansion will add approximately 70 new manufacturing jobs to the region’s economy with an initial investment of $6 million.
