DFW report card: 26,000 new jobs created
Nearly 26,000 new direct and indirect jobs were recruited to the region in 2004 through the efforts of the Chamber's economic development team. Over $1 billion in economic impact will be generated as a result of recruiting companies and jobs.

Travelocity CEO to speak at Women’s Leader Series
The Chamber’s Distinguished Women’s Leaders Lecture Series will host Michelle Peluso, president and CEO of Travelocity, on Feb. 17. DFW Airport’s International Capital Development Projects completed
DFW Airport has invested $2.7 billion in its five-year Capital Development Program (CDP), which includes the two million-square foot international Terminal D with an integrated Grand Hyatt Hotel scheduled to open in July and the world's largest airport high-speed train, Skylink. Airfield, roadway and support projects to help maintain the entire airport infrastructure make up the rest of the program. The CDP is expected to generate an estimated $34 billion impact on the North Texas economy and create 77,000 new jobs during the next 15 years.

Job Connections- The New Career Connections
Many of you are familiar with the Chamber’s Career Connections Program, well it has a new name and a new face. Job Connections is the name and Keith Scott, President of KAS Consulting will be running the show. The program will be formatted exactly the same as Career Connections was, however the events will occur approximately every other month instead of monthly. This is a free event for chamber members and is now open to prospective Chamber members for $10.00. Job Connections events are planned for: Feb. 8, March 2, May 10, Aug. 9, Sept. 20 and Nov. 8.
