Insurance service center to bring 80 jobs to DFW region
Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. announced plans to locate a national service center in Dallas, bringing 80 new jobs to the area. The new center will house the company's direct sales and support functions, a centralized call center, and provide field support for remote employees. The company currently employs 180 at its Dallas offices.

North Texas Businesses Leaders in National Immigration Debate
The Chamber has been following the immigration reform debate in Congress for well over a year. A more restrictive immigration policy has tremendous potential consequences, especially for the technology and life sciences industry in North Texas as well as nationally. Meanwhile, the current immigration system has not proven sufficiently responsive to market demand. The cap for H-1B visas has already been exhausted for FY 2007, making this the eighth time in ten years that the cap was reached before the end of the fiscal year.

There are some companies that understand their customers and how to reach them effectively. Starbucks, for example, has executed this process perfectly. They have created a product where customers will wait in long lines and pay $5 for a cup of coffee. Obviously, it's not just about the coffee, but the whole experience. The Starbucks brand is made up of the store design, bean selection, barista personalities, etc. Like any successful company, they focus on all customer touch points.
