The 2007 Fortune 500 list was released and included 24 companies from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Another 22 companies from the Dallas/Fort Worth area made the remainder of the Fortune 1000, also released.

US Census Bureau confirms: DFW tops 6 million residents
Population estimates released by the US Census Bureau in April show the DFW metro topping 6 million residents. The new data confirms earlier estimates by the Greater Dallas Chamber that the DFW region surpassed Philadelphia to become the fourth largest metro area in the nation in mid-2005.
